How bad is it? This old house has the bathroom lights, some basement lights directly below the bathroom, the outlet to which the televsion in the hall is plugged into, and, of course, the room where my computer is.
Whenever the basement light is on, my screen loses sync and goes black for a few seconds before resyncing each time the bathroom light is turned on or off.
Computer never freezes, bluscreens or anything, None of them do, actually, either, nor the other electronics.
Just this monitor.

What gives? Is it worth it to run a new line (myself being an electrician's son and one of my roommates being the son of this house's owners, whom all justly trust me).
>or should i just break down and put an osciloscope on the line and then either put a ups in or maybe run the new line if needed idk wut u think senpai
>bumping for tales of how bad dirty power is for computers
Go for coconut cables.
I think we should have our monitors be powered by our PSUs like old times. Who's with me?

That's just a pass-through.
CRTs need AC.

You should have a UPS either way. Get one, and it will stop the shitty input power too.

But good PSUs nowadays have a transient filter and monitors can make good use out of it.

It's still not "like old times"
you're better off asking /diy/ desu
Replace your lights

Just get some filters from cosel or something.

A UPS becomes incredibly expensive
