Hey /g/,
I have an old build from around 4 years ago. I upgraded my graphics card to a Geforce GTX 1070 from MSI 5 months ago. I've noticed that I might also need to upgrade some other parts, such as my motherboard and CPU.
My motherboard is an Asus M5A97 R2.0 with AMD 970 chipset support.
My CPU is an AMD FX-6300 6-core, 3.5 Ghz.
I'm not sure what to upgrade first, and what's worth my money right now. What do you recommend, and what new parts are most compatible with the upgrade I plan on? My power supply is pretty much unlimited for any new parts.

grab a 1700 and a b350 mobo with decent power delivery and oc to 3.8. 8 core 16 thread future proof monster. just buy am4 cpu and youll be set for at least 4 years. am4 will last that long with new cpus.

You don't need to upgrade then.
I'm using a Phenom II X6 1055T with HD7950 and have no problem playing all modern games.
