It's pretty alright. I've been using this combo on my laptop for the last year or so. I wish the login screen was part of the setup, since I had to install some other program to handle it. The customization is pretty damn sweet. I have a shit-tier 1366x768 old consumer chinkpad, so the ability to create autohiding bars and scale all the elements is fantastic. For pure utilitarian setups on low-spec machines, it's hard to beat XFCE.
