How do i really turn off wifi on this piece of shit modem? Everyone knows the provider can turn it back on through software on their management vlan. I've tried removing the wifi module from the board. While modular, its removal prevents booting the board. I really dislike forced wifi.

put it in a faraday cage

Try to find out how it knows that the wifi module is not plugged in.
Maybe you just have to connect a few pins together to fool it.
>>59749632 Wrap it with multiple layers of aluminium foil. Make sure not to leave any gaps, wrap few inches of power/ethernet wires too. And then wrap it with a tape to ensure good contact between foil layers.
Btw it could possibly kill the RF-module, especially if it is high power one (300-1000mW).

Disconnect the antenna from the wifi module.
Install DD-WRT/OpenWRT/PFsense/Gentoo

Wi-Fi power output is on the order of 10mW.

this. disable the antenna.

Dump the firmware then search for the admin password. Use it on the web interface.

build a jammer and fine-tune it to cancel out the wifi signal.
or just damage the antenna.
Seriously, why even rent or otherwise accept using modems from your ISP?
Buy one on Amazon, fuck, I just picked up a plain old 8/4 channel Cisco from Goodwill for less than $5. Took a little extra time to get the modem on my account. Totally worth it.

Weird, is it the model with the coaxial cable plug right?
When you factory reset it you can modify it however you want, but after you reconnect to said cable some settings are reset automatically. I used this to change the SSID and its password.
WiFi should stay off...

Not OP but there is no GPON CPE that I could buy that isn't from my ISP.
Fucking ISP locked bridge mode down to just higher subscriptions.
