Hello /g/.
I'll make it short:
"What is the best web framework for lazy people?".
I think ROR is a pretty good one but what about the others??
>>59740164
Node.js express.
>>59740164
Java Applets
>>59740188
no way... Building a rest api is a pain in the ass compared to Ruby on Rails
Maybe Sails.js but not express...

RoR is pretty lazy, in the sense that it is designed very well and makes web development actually enjoyable and maintainable. Because everyone has to do most things the same way, you can just go from project to project and perfectly read everyone's code even though they all have very distinct functionalities.
No home made shitty login systems, no home made shitty databases. Just a beautiful OOP languages with a beautiful OOP database implementation and a good connection to the front end.

laravel
no need to know about databases
no need to know about http
no need to know about sessions/cookies
>>59740242
op here
I do agree with you ROR is pretty comfy, easy to deploy and I'm in love with assets pipeline

I learned Ruby for RoR, but after using it for a while I wish it was more widespread outside of web. Compared to Ruby Python looks like an antiquated abomination. Ruby is basically the high point of the OOP meme and it payed off. Things likemy_array.any?{|index, item| index % 2 == 0 and item.type == "ur mum"}
my_array.all?{|item| item.some_attribute == whatever}
Make me almost orgasm when coding because in a single line (or multi line possible when you want! Fuck python lambdas) you can verbosely express what costs 10 lines and shitty unintuitive constructions in others.

agree with you. i think express is very minimalistic if you exclude its middlewares
