Okay /g/ I'm fucking pissed off
I went on some chink site and bought a well reviewed eGPU Mini PCIe adapter so I can use my old 5770 with my old shitposting machine on another monitor
The PSU thats giving it power can do 384w on the 12v, more than enough for a 5770
But the adapter needs one 6 pin pcie from the PSU to give the pcie slot its 75w power
But my PSU only had 1 pcie 6 pin so i bought a 6 pin to 2 6+2 splitter
But the fucking thing just jitters on boot and refuses to turn on when I have both wires on the splitter plugged in to the adapter and GPU
But if I unplug the GPU cable and just power the 75w pcie slot it turns on and the GPU fan spins but nothing on the monitor obviously because the GPU needs it's extra juice to function
So why the fuck did the splitter make the PSU go lolnope when it could easily handle the output?

Regardless, your article is referencing a HIS card, and everything ive found says the xfx cards pull more watts.
Different manufacturers have different power requirements, and you shouldn't blanket statement things.
They both need 40 amps on the +12 regardless.
