So I watched the first 10 minutes and his main complaint against vim seems to be the problems with plugin support making some plugins impractical to implement correctly.
For that, there's neovim. No reason to suddenly jump ship completely.

Well, he's prompting the usage of Emacs with Vim key bindings to get the best of both worlds.
Vim productivity.
Emacs extensibility.
You gotya watch it, gets crazy when he creates takes out of nowhere.
It's like you won't even need an office word, just Emacs.
IMO vim has more practical plugins than emacs.
Yeah there are email and irc clients but I would rather use a dedicated program for that.
And have a good program for editing text(vim).
