Is this going to have Ryzen Inside?
>>59737347
Most likely. They're not going to use shitty old Jaguar core again, that's for sure.
>>59737347
My trusted sources tell me that its going to be tegra powered. AMD BTFO ONCE AGAIN.

Nice sources you got there, Sanjay.
Isn't the current XBAWKS a massive failure already due to shitty business decisions?
That's a shitload more caps than Xbone, and as Jaguar doesn't need that much power managment it's either excavator or zen
I seriously doubt it will be Ryzen, AMD hasn't even announced Ryzen APU's yet, and there's been no rumors of specs, also Microsoft will probably just follow the PS4 Pro and use a very slightly upgraded CPU to ensure compatibility.

>scorpio
so are they trying to sell this to mexicans?
>>59737347
>new Xbone has two chips, dedicated CPU/GPU combo, no blu-ray drive (they'll come out with one as a USB 3.0 addon though)
I'm hoping it also has a removable 3.5" HDD too, these fucking laptop hard drives are awful.
>>59737347
I hope so, if not it's going to be pretty mediocre.
The new Xbox is going to have an external GPU and external Blu-ray drive. Both will be connected with a modified USB 3.0 connection.
They'll sell two versions, one will have a blu-ray drive and the other won't.
There may be a GPU upgrade for the original Xbone as well, the problem is the CPU scaling with it and whether or not Microsoft wants to cannibalize Scorpio sales.
All xbone games are on PC as well, Xbox is literally useless.
>>59737484
yeah i doubt ryuzen as well. to soon and most likely to costly for consoles still. it will most likely be a refined jaguar core. higher clocks, less power consumption, less heat with a polaris refresh "vega" gpu core slapped in it.
>>59737719
Normies don't care about high end PC gaming, look at the top sellers on both Xbone and PS4, they're all multiplats like FIFA, Madden, Call of Duty and Battlefield. People just want to couch game with a TV, no one cares if an Xbone or PS4 game is also on PC.
>>59737719
Not Halol though.
Microsoft backed themselves into a corner with the Xbone though, as cool as the TV integration stuff was, they really fucked up in terms of allocating resources to getting actual exclusive games on the system.
They tried to do way too much with it, hopefully they figure out what they need to cut for Scorpio.
>>59737453
No point in going excavator, barely any faster than Jaguar with the same power draw as Zen.
I'm betting on either Polaris + some Vega features or straight up Vega + Zen.
>>59737347
Yes.
Either 4 high clocked cores or 6 low clocked cores.
Plus Vega 11 +4GB HBM2.
>>59738640
>HBM2
>amdrones are both retarded and blind
KEK
>>59738640
I don't think it is going to have HBM2.
>>59737347
>Microsoft release a modular console. Every piece can be upgraded with proprietary connections.
>>59738681
You do realise that the pic in the OP isn't the actual chip, yes? It's an ancient mock-up back from when the Scorpio was first announced at E3 last year. They didn't have finished hardware ready 18 months before launch.
>>59737758
They cancelled the TV stuff though. They never even integrated the dvr.
>>59737347
my prediction:
> 4c8t Ryzen @ 3.0-3.4 GHz
> 10-12 GB GDDR5(X?) on a 320-384b bus with 300-400 GB/s bandwidth
> ~2k shader ALUs @ ~1.5 GHz
> maybe a bit of cheap DDR3 bolted on for persistent OS use
Basically a beefier Raven Ridge APU with half a Vega's computational power with ~3/4 the bandwidth.

I am taking a wild guess here and say that it is going to be the next iteration of consoles for Microsoft with the feature of being playable on your TV screen, just like any other console before that.
It is going to be more powerful then its predecessor to match the current market demand.
Screencap this.
