Anyway as far as I can tell I've tweaked affinity and everything well enough. RAM allocation is not a problem at all (32GB allocated to the virtual machine in question and Java's only touching 2GB of the 16 I gave it).

I suppose I'll have to find some other CPU intense application to test on here to ensure it's a Java issue and not a Hyper-V one

My folks had a WD My Book (pic related) and it crapped out. It has 2 x 1Tb drives inside, both seem fine, the unit is just not powering up. Anyone know anything about car stereos?

I have an old one with a removable faceplate. It was right in the stupid time where it was too new to use cassettes, but too old to have an aux input. No, performance will drop or the program wont run at all.

With the Intel IGPU it will run slow but will just take more RAM so it can open the program.
IIRC C2D IGPU limit is somewhat around 1.7GB.

The price is right, however my two Orico cards have VLI800 chipset (I have PVU3-4P and some other model with 2 internal headers). I don't remember why exactly I went with this one, but I think there was something fucky about Intels, at least 3 years ago when I was buying. Maybe things have changed by now.

What do I need to install Windows 10? It's still free? A friend of mine is going to give me his old PC for building his new "gaymin machine", parts are already on mail, all I need now is to find a way to install Windows 10 on it. I have some Windows knowledge since I used it for more than 15 years, so the driver hunting will not be a problem.

So I want to do some gamedev with my friends this summer using Unity, if we are successful and want to scale up should we use Windows 10 as our OS? I currently have Windows 7 is that still viable for game development?

I know there's an experimental build of Unity for Ubuntu linux and truth be told I would prefer that but it's not finalized and my friends have never really used linux.
