sup /g/ from about 5~6 years there started to be a lot of "GAMING" motherboards and other computer components.

The thing is they are shit! Literal shit worse then the stock back in the day.
Where can I get good hardware that is not scam level of TEH GAMER shit?

I want to avoid this TEH GAYMER shit!

Also post your GAYMER hardware horror stories.
Mine are:

>GAYMER pro mouse
Literally unusable brick and awkward to hold. Overpriced.

>GAYMER Razer Nostromo
Jesus fuck! Literally gives you carpal tunnel within minutes of using this shit! Has gold plated USB end!!!!! WTF!!! Overpriced!!!!
ProTip: Gold plated USB is the sign that its complete shit.
Also who even wants this(gold plated USB)?!

>GAYMEN motherboard
(I wanted to avoid this shit, looked the best in specks so got it, however was reluctant)
Comes with killer network card.
Best part, no drivers for windows!
On GNU+loonix its detected (figure this one out)
On windows you need to install their driver bundle that installs killer network manager who sends all your data to the manufacturer.
Trying to get the driver without the killer network manager is ultra hard.

Why is GAYMEN shit so bad?
Best part avoid everything with the following
>GAIMER in name
>Gold plated USB

However these motherboards are everywhere now.
>>
got a gaymer mobo (MSI gaming 7) cheap from a magazine reviewer guy i know. is actually pretty good (but way overpriced at launch)
>>
OP, you just realized?
>>
>>59713602
No.
I wanted to ask people what to do about it.
Also vent my frustration with this cancer.

OP here this is what triggered me to make this thread.
1) go to newegg.com
2) search for motherboards
3) See every motherboard has a cover hoodie over the ports.
Like look at this shit!
I dub it the cringe bar!
Like its hard not to cringe while looking at this shit!
Why!? Why are they jamming more cringe worthy shit on computer equipment?!

Just buy cheap server stuff my man.
It's hot, it's loud, low IPC, but it's dirt cheap and great for actual work.
>>
>>59713564
This reads like an esl 3rd worlder who doesn't even have a pc, even my old p67 backup pc is working with win 10 fine, just hook everything up power on and right click your pc in dm, scan for hardware changes, just werks. you don't need al the other apps and bs, just set everything in bios.

Jesus you need to be extra retarded to run win10.
>>
>>59713564
Did they make a move with a built in 360 receiver? That would have been an actual selling point since I play quite a few games with it.

Priceless considering that:
>It's called an I/O Shield you dumbfuck
Last I checked a I/O Shield did not go on top of the ports.

Here is the picture once more I highlighted the area if you are retarded or blind (possibly both).

I googled I/O Shield for you.
Looks like you have no idea what you are talking about.

>>59713879
I was talking about what the living fuck this cringe bar is.

>it's actually useful to not leave a gap in your case and prevent accidental damage.
I love for you to show me how the cringe bar can do it.
>>
>>59713879>>59713932
oh my fucking god are you this autistic? It's literally called an I/O shield, the purpose of the black part you're being autistic about in this case is for sealing your airflow I believe. You can also just not install it and risk fucking up your mobo
>>
>>59713934
>>59713932
>>59713879
apparently it isn't "Cringe Bar" like this r9k leak named it or I/O Shield as I call it. It's called an I/O Cover and it usually does what I described already
>>
>>59713934
>oh my fucking god are you this autistic?
1) Rages like he is an expert.
> is for sealing your airflow I believe.
>I believe.
2) Has believes that he believes are true.
Not knowledge or facts believes.

Here is what a I/O shield is mr. expert:

And I applaud you for it.
Try working more on the not making mistakes in the first place skill.

PS: I have seen discussions where people argued absurdist points beyond any measures.

It'll come naturally with time/experience

So you go to /pol/ too huh?
>>
>>59713879
you should get your autism in check m8
if it bugs you so much dont get a case with a side window sperg
>>
>>59713564
You just realised? This isn't news to anyone. You can still buy non "gamer" products, especially keyboards, for every edgy looking one, there's a plain minimalistic counterpart.
>>
>>59714096
>So you go to /pol/ too huh?
/pol/ is not that bad.
Be me.
Be in tech discussion (not /pol/).
Start talking about how the GNU name sounds bad.
Some random idiot starts arguing.
>English is not the whole world HERP DERP.
Idiot implies that Africa is a world super power and USA is insignificant.
I ask for clarification.
He continues how the African market dominates the world.
I ask him to show the statistics or even one company giving 1 shit about Africa.
Idiot responds basically with
>I can not believe you are so ignorant, I will not prove my assertions, check mate.
These people are on a whole new level of delusional we are talking
>McDonalds is the leading CPU manufacturer
Levels of delusional.
>>
op your dumb. ever since i got my gaming router ive been hitting way more headshots in csgo thanks to better fps.
>>
>>59714125
I'm only getting irritated that there is more of this GAMING shit everywhere.
Its getting worse.
This is the problem.

I want to get a motherboard that is NON-GAMING.

Also who even buys this shit?
Gold plated USB??!!!!
Talk about blowing money on stupid shit!
>>
>>59714202
I know this is trolling however is the GAYMEN audience so stupid to actually believe this?
>>
>>59714214
Same kind of customer that buys premium gold plated 300$ audio cables.
>>59714240
For most gamers how a PC works is black magic, so provably lotsbod them do.
>>
>>59714304
>Same kind of customer that buys premium gold plated 300$ audio cables.
What is their logic?
Gold makes the electrons flow with more FPS and less lag?!?!?!?!
>For most gamers how a PC works is black magic, so provably lotsbod them do.
Seriously?
There might be a pause where they think
>Hold on for one second
>I can learn starcraft and improve my hand skills on the keyboard
>Or buy these GAIMING keyboards
>Now how can this equipment improve me not understanding build orders and not having a impressive APM?
Don't these people have a moment where they think this?
And understand that some mechanical switches will not magically make them better in a game?
>>
>>59714214
get a gigabyte ultra durable. , high end chipsets with an understated look. why does it upset you though, mature individuals have no case window so you can't even see the components. it could have black dicj vrm heatsinks and I'd still use it if it was the best for my needs. they're gaudy because that's what kids like and adults dont give 2 shits, so gaudy eckstreem motherboards are what we got.

Fair point on the looks VS power.
However here is the thing:

1) Even if the cost was zero there is still the discomfort of putting a MB that has Dora the explorer pictures on it while you are assembling the PC.
Also if I clean it I see the GAIMER version of a Dora the explorer themed motherboard.

Pic related.

2) Also you need to remember that the price of these themes is not zero!
These extra led's and other pointless shit costs money and it adds extra price tag.
Since everyone is doing it you are stuck overpaying for led's.

I also bet the manufacturer scrapes extra cash for the TEH GAMER brand.

So I'm overpaying.

This is bad in itself and then we have:

3) A lot of the times this gamer shit is not only overpriced man toys its actually bad see my experience with the terrible network card that was shit, my experience with a gaming mice that was shit.

All in all the conclusion is simply it looks stupid raises the price and often is actually worse from a purely technical perspective.
So its actually on the same level like buying a Dora the explorer skateboard(overpriced, looks terrible, and is actually inferior)
