Is installing Skype on Linux a bad idea? What if you have to do it?

Is that a yes?

skype on linux works like shit, voice calls and chat work most of the time but dont expect screen sharing or videoconference to work.
If you only need chat and voice just use the web version. The linux binary is shit.

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux.
