>want to dual boot between windows and linux with hibernate
>finally manage to make hibernate work on both of them
>can't add windows to grub because of EFI shit

Is the only reason for UEFI being there to break working shit and make people use buggy interface for changing basic options?

grub works fine; OP just doesn't know how to use it
>>

from a users pov the most important will be gpt
>>
>>59688176
You can boot from a GPT disk using legacy compatibility.

It's better just to use an SSD that's MBR to boot from though and have your other HDDs on GPT.

What even is the purpose of that GUI? Why?
Just use a standard, utilitarian, proper interface like pic related rather than trying THIS hard
>>
>>59687341

Use separate hard drives and use MBR.
>>
>>59688497
The other thing has mouse support.
I don't know why they designed it this way, just from a programmers standpoint, how it looks is always less important than the functionality, but I guess they couldn't resist to add logos and stuff then they didn't knew when to stop.
I am afraid that if coreboot had a template for making the most gay bootscreen, more companies would jump ship.

I liked the other one better as well.

But I'm not really mad because I spend like 10 minutes per year there so whatever

You don't choose your OS in GRUB, UEFI does that now. Less hackey than before.
>>
>>59690656
it's also less flexible, as you have less control over UEFI compared to GRUB
>>
>>59687341
You're fucking retarded.
