i tried chromium for a bit recently
- addons cover most of what i want, but there's several limitations imposed by chromium that limit what they can do
- memory usage, holy shit, i even ran it with a process-per-domain to bring it down a bit, but it'd still chew 10G+ ram before too long, i'd have to periodically kill groups of tabs otherwise they just keep climbing
- tab management is ass, and addons can't do much about it, if you use a lot of tabs, chromium just isn't for you

i'm back on palemoon, haven't use this in quite a while, it's progressed a lot, it seems to be more than just a held-back firefox fork now, and many addons have explicit support for it
sure, it's not as fast, but it's fast enough, and that's about the only downside. i don't play video or games in my browser, so performance isn't really that critical
