How do I protect my system from data degradation and bit rot? I have it running in a faraday cage with a primary SSD RAID1 array mirrored by a RAID1 HDD array, both ssd and hdd array changed every six months, and an emergency redunancy high speed SD flash card memory array changed every quarter. It feels like I'm in a constant battle to maintain data integrity and I feel like my process is only barely cutting it.
Would it be worth it to invest in a UPS/generator protected ECC ram drive NAS unit, or does the network transfer risk further data degradation?
>Not having tape backups
What is this? amateur hour?

You again. I save ally Images as . jpg files on an SATA SSD. What now, faggot?

I have a 6tb drive with three 2tb partitions. The first partion has the OS and data on it for speed, the second and third partition are in soft RAID 1 formation. Write access is slower, but that's okay because I only use it for backing up the first 2tb partition.
Sheer Security

>I back up half my harddrive to the other half of my harddrive
nigga what
>>59653095
Are you fucking autistic? Holy shit.
>>59653095
This guy is a fucking retard
>>59652839
you're fucked by rotational velocidensity anyway, it's a lost battle

/thread
not sure if srs

Top tier bait, here is your (you)

ZFS. Or the botched NIHS clone, if you believe it.
>>59654703
Or HAMMER.
>>59653095
Pretty decent idea.
>>59653095
I like you.
>>59653095
That's so fucking dumb. Not only isn't that an actual backup it also doesn't protect against bit rot. RAID 1 or 5 by themselves don't protect against bit rot.
>>59656999
>RAID1 doesn't protect data integrity
uwotm8
>>59653095
i hope you're using ZFS anon, otherwise you've wasted your time
>>59656999
That doesnt even mention rotational velocidensity
Just upload it to Google Drive.
