- Much better cellular reception
- Much faster LTE thanks to 4xCA and more LTE band support
- 30dBa improvement in Wi-Fi reception in my bedroom, so I went from 1mbps speeds to 15mbps speeds
- AMOLED display
- Much better quality control
- A larger community of developers and users
- More cases and other accessories as well as repair parts available in your own country and repair guides online
- Useful niche features such as waterproofing, heart rate monitor, and Samsung Pay MST
- Faster app launch times thanks to UFS storage
- Faster software updates because flagships are the first to get updates from the OEM
- Quicker app installs and panorama processing because of the faster SoC
- Better camera quality because of OIS, PDAF, and better processing algorithms

None of these features are necessary and you can live without them, but they all are useful in their own situations.
