It's not very hard.

Ladder logic or relay logic is simple.
The difficult part is knowing how sensors and the machines you're running operate.

Used to program them in uni in ladder logic. Ladder is a dank programming "language" btw, it was a clever step to convince old professionals to switch to PLC back then.

Siemens' programming interface was a trainwreck, I hated it. OMRON was great, I remember pirating it in 30 .part.rar files from Rapidshit after literal hours of googling.

Step7 is really good compared to many other plc interfaces, very easy and intuitive.
>>
I've been learning to program some recently. I'm preping to be an electrician specialized in automation and domotics.
Easier than coding for sure, but still a pain in the ass.
>>
I'm an automations engineer who installed PLC and SCADA projects all the time.
Programming the plc itself isn't hard btw, and for scada and HMI ,the VB.net and c# is what usually used (forget about memer on /g/) ,knowing C# will boost your career on automation ingeneral

>"electrical wiring learning"
I wish my automation class had some of these panels
most we did was wiring some contactors and pneumatic delays into a lamp, not even basic motors.
We learned in fact basic PLC language with Logo and S7-1200, but not a single wiring on those, not even dealing with analog sensors

I did this stuff in school

Phoenix Contact ILC ETH 150 master race

I do it for my full time job for pharmaceutical machines, i hate it. I feel like at the bottom of the food chain of software developers.

It's just pure cancer.

Do you have some guide to program an HMI over visualbasic? Its there tutorials or just youtube stuff?
>>

Just remembered, I also built one. The school wanted more of them, so our class had to build one each in groups of 3.
At the end they made me program a sorting machine with material and color sensors, pneumatic lifts and electric conveyer belts.
