Use Tor like any other autist would.
>>
If you use HTTPS you should be fine.
>>
>>59628290
There will be laws drawn up, put it place, but it will be by the FTC instead of the FCC because the argument is that the FCC was too strict, and stifled competition and innovation or something. They say Telecoms won't be able to compete with companies like Google and Facebook who are under FTC guidelines. It's kind of a faulty comparison, since it is true that companies like google and facebook get a lot of information on its users their services are free, completely optional--which is not the case in some places with limited options due to ISP monopolies--and the kicker they're not as invasive or have the potential information gathering capabilities as an ISP.

Let's not forget that the bill has to now be signed by trump to become law. There's a small chance he might revoke it, but it's unlikely.
>>

It's illegal to sell someone's VHS rental history, because someone used it against a politician to reveal they rented porn. I'm sure that some ISP will sell a politicians data, and then the politicians will make it illegal.
>>
>>59628712
Because people felt security that eventually they would have laws that protected them, but as you can see we will now stay in this limbo and our privacy under the benevolent discretion of our ISP for a while longer until this administration and the FTC make something that please their lobbyists.

A better question is \why have people already ruled out the possibility that trump might give this the old kibosh?

A VPN will have a different user agreement that will likely spell out what protections you have and what data they collect

unless there's a demand for your ISP to give you the same protections it won't happen. There's significantly less competition in the ISP market than there is in the VPN market. You're not restricted to a local VPN like you are with an ISP.

The problem was that for most americans, they were disillusioned by not being able to trust someone that constantly was being barraged for being two-faced. We just happened to end up with the biggest retard on the opposite end of our great two party system.

>>59629315
So you'd like to share with us your health and financial problems? How about that purchase of that bad dragon dildo gets shared with friends and family because your isp just sold it to some random person?
>>
>>59629286
VPNs can say to don't log any personally identifying information and legally collect all IP information because they're a degree removed from resolving the IP to your name and advertising key. Data brokers, however, can purchase these "nameless" IPs and now, thanks to this law, resolve them with data purchased from the ISPs themselves.
>>
>>59629377
>The problem was that for most americans, they were disillusioned by not being able to trust someone that constantly was being barraged for being two-faced.
The irony being that they got the biggest pathological liar they could have possibly gotten.
>>
>>59629377
>slippery slope fallacy

I have no health problems, people who do shouldn't be logging them online if they care so much about people finding out (they shouldn't). If you bought a dragon dildo or watch tentacle hentai or something like that you deserve to have your life ruined. We need more of that so problematic individuals are discouraged from obscene or illegal activities online out of fear of harsh payback.
>>
>>59629449
>If you bought a dragon dildo or watch tentacle hentai or something like that you deserve to have your life ruined

moral high ground here boys
>>
>>59629463
Degeneracy ruins societies. I have long hoped net neutrality died so that we can see a new job surge and eliminate all the criminal and degenerate sites from the face of the Earth. It breeds an unhealthy public.

If my son watched hentai he'd be on the streets.
>>
>>59629449
A country of sexually repressed people, I'm sure that would go over well. I know it did for a lot of catholic church boys.
>>
>>59629428
Here's hoping that he either steps the fuck up (he won't) or he gets caught doing something fucking stupid and gets thrown out of office. At least Pence doesn't spend more time on twitter than a teenager.

>>59629449
>people who do shouldn't be logging them online if they care so much about people finding out
It doesn't work like that. By paying medical bills online or looking up local pharmacies, ad companies will just put two and two together. If you don't opt out of tracking services even on your phone, they know more about you than your family does.
>>
>>59629502
Dude we can just have sex education in schools. Pornography is awful for one's health and is a gateway for all sorts of mental illnesses.
>>
>>59629517
I have a feeling he'll get thrown out of office at some point. I can't see him serving 2 terms unless he miraculously does something amazing (which he won't).
>>
>>59629517
Trump spends time on twitter to address the public ahead of the spin of the traitorous, libelous press who deserves to be imprisoned. It's a genius approach not seen since the fireside chats and should be encouraged. What about other politicians who talk on twitter? Why only Trump? Oh, because he's actually achieving things unlike Obama who only passed harmful legislation that enabled criminals and deviants.

Also, then don't look up stuff related to your condition online if it bothers you. If it bothers you that much then you need help, seriously.
>>
>>59629587
>who deserves to be imprisoned
Wow, you don't even see Tumblrinas calling for Sean Hannity to be jailed. Are you really such a special snowflake that you need to end free speech and jail people who disagree with you?
>>
>>59629609
It's not free speech, it's libel and not protected. So yeah, they deserve to be thrown in jail for attempting to brainwash the public and breaking many laws to do so. It's only a coincidence they're all liberals I'm sure.
>>
>>59629587
>Also, then don't look up stuff related to your condition online if it bothers you.
The isps won't need your permission to collect information. I'm not worried about myself, because I have the know-how to be able to avoid it to the best of my ability. This is about companies taking advantage of consumers.
>>
>>59629496
The problem isn't really about degeneracy, it's about democracy. Politics and human jealousy will always cause people to play dirty and anything and everything will be used against you. If you know the American Constitution, you wouldn't be taking this position because you know it is made to stop tyranny from happening in the USA.

If the better person loses their chance to effect or even govern because of an medical records of a anal fissure do to a dragon dildo-related accident, and a tyrant gets through then there is something seriously flawed with our system. (Dragon dildos being the extreme, in reality a lesser more innocent piece of information might be made publicly and spun to attack the character of someone.) Our system is already a media circus and distasteful as fuck.

>>
>>59629951
A government that doesn't give a shit about us needs to be brought down.

I love how right wingers are always so proud to be like "muh gubmint don't protect me i protect muhself" but at the first mention that maybe that's a problem and merits fixing, right away it's "socialists, commies, muh freedom fries, muh beer." A government is a social contract: we offer up some freedoms, they protect others. We, the body thus protected, have the sole moral authority to renegotiate this contract, with or without the consent of the body governing.

Let's set aside our differences on the second amendment and all agree, that if there's any legitimate use for civilian firearms, it's upon us.

A multi-party system like other countries just means you have coalitions that empower fringe groups. Just look at what is happening all over the EU to "Stop Nazis" ultra-Marxists/progs/socialists/etc use it to force "compromise" in the name of keeping the single larger party out.
Now that the libertarian party has gone full-tilt Libertarian-Marxist dildo the neocons might finally get pushed out.
Besides that, we've let the politicians become lapdogs to corporate interest. (Vid related) we need to elect better politicians and press parties to lax their national-line in the name of local interest. Implement laws, or even amendments to limit corporate lobbying, prevent politicians and bureaucrats from flopping into kickback positions. The lobbyists push them to press their interests, offer campaign funds, nice lunches at the sunset of their career a nice 6,7 figure salary as a corner-office seat-warmer.

No. You're doomed.

But I think the best course of action is not to worry about it. If you're on here and ALSO into anime, you're obviously a fat slob. So you should be happy. You'll lose everything, but you'll still be able to enjoy your loli by taking advantage of rudimentary security tools at public libraries. As a bonus, becoming a figure of public scorn without any future opportunity for employment -- and, by extent, without food or a house -- will help you lose a lot of weight. Then, when you're remotely attractive again, you can have a second chance, because no one will believe you're the same guy if you just look at the picture and be like "wow, I'd never let myself get that fat."

Idk bub. Trump can't pass a simple healthcare bill with a party majority in both the house and senate, both of his travel bans were immediately invalidated, and he hasn't built his promised wall yet. This is inevitable and necessary. People can't suffer in a vacuum. We need to share it with each other or else we can't be stable individuals who function in society. Communities for doing so aren't inherently a bad thing, as long as they don't become mainstream, like furries did.

Because ISP's are a utility that you get very few choices about in a given area. You can easily avoid Google and Facebook, and if that weren't the case I would suggest identical regulations for those companies as well.
>>
>>59630739
Middle ground is too nice in this environment, you really need to take a side and fight for it.
>>
>>59630912
The main difference in the eyes of the consumer is that Google and Facebook offer you a service in return for your (claimed to be) anonymized information. You don't have to use Facebook, you don't have to use Google. Kind of like how 4chan stays active by ads or by getting a 4chan Gold account. They need to generate revenue.

However, you pay your ISP to give you service. I don't want to pay a company, then have them mine my information further, and sell it. I can't really "switch," especially when service providers already have near-total monopolies in areas for internet (I literally can only get either Satelltie or Comcast where I live.) Two towns over, it's just AT&T. So there's no additional alternative.

Removing a rule that wasn't enacted yet isn't as big a deal, sure, but it doesn't set a good precedent. Just like how gun owners don't like the idea of having a unscrutinized no-fly list; it sets a precedent towards something worse.
>>
>>59630992
>You can easily avoid Google and Facebook,

No you can't, what a joke. Google Analytics is like on 95% of websites and Facebook tracks a lot as well. If you want a decent search engine, email, map, you use have to use Google. If you want to socalize with normalfags you have to use Facebook.

Law never existed.

The "law" was a set of regulations created by the FCC under Wheeler that was supposed to protect consumer privacy.

Pai, the new FCC head and a vocal critic of said regulations, delayed their implementation to February so that Congress could use their prerogative to veto the regulations and prevent the FCC from ever making similar regulations again.

It's just not a choice incurably mentally ill people have. I can't "just be a man." I can't "just eat." I can't "just have a normal relationship." Because I can't do these things, I suffer. And because I suffer, I can't "just be quiet."
>I think we will have to agree to disagree though.
I suppose so.

HTTPS only protects the bodies, the URL is not protected

If you're doing anything degenerate online, deeply examine yourself and find the core reason you're such a freak, and expose that to them as well. That way, if they publish your degeneracy, you can publish the part where you explain yourself, and then you have the moral higher ground, because then it becomes obvious to everyone that they're just picking on a poor damaged soul who just wants to live his life and treat his psychic wounds behind the curtains and never asked for this.

It's been "upon us" for the better part of two decades. It would take something serious and shocking to normies to bring a proper revolt.

It protects the URL up to the domain itself. If you watched a YouTube video they would only be able to see "youtube.com"

I honestly have no idea if you're insulting me or yourself at this point.
>>

Privacy rules were previously being regulated by FTC. It was a failed AT&T vs. FTC lawsuit, that prompted the FCC law.
>>
If I wireshark my data and can't see it on my current machine, my ISP probably can't see it.. correct?
or do I have to wireshark on a MITM machine from my computer -> machine -> my router
>>
Normie here. I keep seeing crowdfunding talk now to purchase peoples internet history...is that even possible/going to be possible? How far back can someone get your history if so? Is it really going to be that simple to fork over money and get anyones history? It seems like it would be a disaster for relationships, friendships, jobs, etc

>tfw

>>59632050
Erm... yes it does.
>>
>>59628014
They just took it away from the FCC and returned it to the FTC, which is where it belongs.

what the fuck kind of backward logic is this holy fuck. That's like putting landmines on every block so that people will watch where they're walking a little more

>>59633891
The FTC privacy rules don't apply to ISPs as of last year when the Supreme Court ruled against the FTC in favor of AT&T. The FCC rules were put in place to cover the recently opened gap.
>>
I lowkey wonder how you niggas think this isn't happening even without this rule or whatever the fuck not, like shit brah your ISP's are more than likely the biggest contributors to the violation of your online privacy, and you have to use their service.
>>
>>59628014
get off the internet
>>
>>59633891
Nothing has been returned to the FTC. That's one of the problems. It's the "repeal without replace" tactic.

All I can figure from this repeal is that a lot of the people opposing it are acting like selfish children. It's not even about privacy, it's about removing restrictions from companies (ISPs). If an individual wants guaranteed privacy from their ISP, that individual should sign up with an ISP that contractually agrees to honor his privacy. Forcing a company to sit on your browser history when they could be making money off of it is decidedly anti-capitalist, but more than that, demanding that the government ensure that all companies follow such a law is downright authoritarian. Either sign up with an ISP that explicitly agrees to not sell the data thry collect on you, or don't use the Internet. But don't throw a fit because you're not willing to compromise.

The whole appeal of Trump was that since he's already rich, he can't be bought. Wealth and greed have a ceiling, right?
>>
>>59629496
Yet youre a degenerate on 4Chan
>>
>>59628065
This.

Just use encryption whenever possible. Even though the NSA/CIA can break it, the ISPs wont. If you can't use encryption, just don't do anything you wouldn't do out in public.

I'm so tired of these double-digit IQ freetards thinking that companies will behave or that consumers are intelligent enough or have enough willpower to vote with their wallets in a manner that can shape the markets for the better.

This is the whole reason we're dealing with this shit in the first place. It's like I'm watching the prequel to fucking Idiocracy and it begins with alt-right counter culture dipshits on an anonymous image board who want to see the world burn because they've never been touched by a woman.
>>
>>59637064
>that individual should sign up with an ISP that contractually agrees to honor his privacy.

Except no ISP does this. And why would they when they can make easy money just selling their logs that they already collect.
>>
>>59633693
Your concern is right but gov would never let it go that far.

I bet your future employer (bank, marketing comp) from big company would be able to get such information about you, but your gf? Nah that would be too good to be true.

If it ever went that far, we would have free net already with anti-features already in it to counter this.
>>
>>59637092
>since he's already rich, he can't be bought.
I was always baffled when I heard people say this. Particularly since the most greedy people I know are the richest people I know.

I'm aware that Imgur.com will stop allowing adult images since 15th of May. I'm taking actions to backup as much data as possible.
