I bought a Power Mac G4 from the goodwill for $30. Pretty fun to mess around with, and once I'm done I'll probably use the case for a build.

I bought a top spec powerbook g4, put a Intel msata ssd in it, and a new battery.
I put Linux on it and dicked around with it for a couple weeks.

It now lives on the floor of my office under my desk

It is very usable for anything except the Internet. I could never find a browser that didn't choke from the lack of hardware acceleration.

did you try 10.4+tenfourfox? DDR systems should be tolerable for anything but webapps, even if G4 tech was a little long in the teeth

honestly I'd love a good G4 powerbook just for handling archives and shit for other macs, too many other projects needing money to justify blowing my load on one though, even though they aren't that expensive yet
