>As always, the first Dell monitors off the production line are designed to be high-end professional monitors. The UP3218K goes in at higher than average specifications, such as 1300:1 contrast ratio, 400 nits brightness, but also offers 100% AdobeRGB, 100% RGB and 98% DCI-P3. The UP3218K is part of Dell’s UltraSharp range, which means we should expect the monitor to be color calibrated out of the box to within a given dE value, typically dE < 3.

for a fairly competent tech company dell has a horrible website
>8k
but why
>>59620671
Higher res is better.
Nvidia Pascal is 8K ready with DisplayPort 1.4 & 8K HEVC Main10/Main12 hardware decoding & VP9 hardware decoding

>that's actually a fair price.
Given that a single 3840x2160 monitor with 98% dci-p3 coverage would cost at least $1000 this is a damn good deal. This is essentially 4 of them in a single panel. Combine that with the technical marvel that it is to manage to get that many pixels into a single display and the higher failure rates of early technology and this is actually incredibly good value. 8K TVs aren't even out yet and when they come out they'll be like $40k. I'm surprised it's not $10k seeing as it's the first of its kind, they could really milk that that. That 4k OLED monitor that dell axed cost $5k as well and although better in some ways it was far less of a technical achievement than this.
Although it is pointless to have 8k in 32 inches.

>underage
Funny how this was predicted years ago and now you got the dummies coming out asking why.

Thank you based nvidia.
There's one Pascal that supports 8K. That's about it.

ruh-roh, I do hope you're joking.
Needs to be 40" at least.

pixel peeping, it's like the faggots on /p/ who drool on medium-format hasselblads although their screens are 1080p and they never print anything >A4

trips don't lie
40"-45" 8k ~= 200 dpi.
275 -> 200 dpi is a lot less significant a loss than 32" -> 45" is a gain, at least if you work mostly in text, since for most people viewing a monitor at normal distances, the amount of legible text on a screen is limited more by physical area than by pixel sharpness.

>buying 4k or larger screen if all you do is work with text
retard alert

Nigger, being able to code with 2160 vertical resolution is fantastic, and multi-portrait of smaller displays is complete shit in comparison.
Try not being a poorfag, and go buy one from Dell, Philips, etc.
