I seem to tend to do with keyboards and earphones. They are technologies that don't tend to advance a lot anyway.
I don't know if I should be doing it with mice too but probably not.
tend
If I'd known the G400 was going out of production I would have bought like 20 of them.
I did it with a razer mousepad once but then I went with a different pad the third time, with an almost identical mechanical keyboard, earbuds.

buy a G403, it's comfy and not ugly
I like my G700 but I will probably go with another wired+wireless combo one that is more modern. Mice tend to still advance in technology. It's not like keyboards that the best is still the same old cherries, or audio technology that is almost identical since the 90s.
I keep buying the same model of earphones after I break them.
I know the sound signature very well and can equalize them. I like their sound too, don't want to deal with an enigma that is another earphone.
I did it with headphones, Logitech UE6000. They're not great, but they have great value, their only issue is their lack of maintainability.
