if disk you're ripping was mastered from disk made from mp3s it's not LOSSLESS. it's not LOSSY. it is still fucking ORIGINAL. it may be shit, it might sound shit but it is ORIGINAL.
when you rip it to wav you just ripped it and it's not LOSLESS nor LOSSY because no compression was made.

When you convert WAV to FLAC then you perform LOSLESS compression. That flac is 100% transparent compared to ORIGINAL master disk. Because rippers can't be bothered to say hey this file is compressed with lossless compression they say it's lossless.

Not unless your artist encoded in 128kbps you people should really move on from 10yo guides.

Modern spectrals are mostly worthless on their own, and should be used properly to have any meaning (comparing spectral of the original with the spectral of the rip).

Of course everything is relative on RED that has ton of bancamp shit encoded in MP3 128kbps and calls that shit music.
