To the anon who suggested using nomacs:
Fuck this program. At first it seems good, but it hamfists a shitton of unnecessary things into the flow of actually viewing images with no immediate way to disable them in the settings. And when I try to access hotkeys, this happens.
Fantastic program. Really. I might consider going on GitHub and reporting bugs / attempting to PR some bugfixes.
Oh, another bug that's almost kind of useful: if you hit escape while the "frameless" image is loading, you get rid of the like, 40% translucent black background before it loads in. Which it then looks like borderless MPV. Which, you know, is really nice, but not an actual setting in the application.
Anyways, let's talk about image viewing software compatible between both Linux and Windows. MacOS need not apply, but can... though I don't know why they'd need to with all their beefy image shit

I typically have been using Irfanview for a long time - I'll continue using Irfanview on my desktop indefinitely. But, the issue lies within performance. Irfanview used to load my images the instant I clicked them. After a while, at least on my laptop, this started to slow down at a consistent rate. Now it takes about 5 seconds to open an image. You may say, well gee, that's not that bad. But when you're trying to browse through your porn, nuttin' is hard when it takes 5 seconds to load an image, and then the next image, and so forth.
I want this shit to be near instantaneous. Linux would be the answer. But this laptop has been Windows for a long time, and I have years of porn stored on it.
