>>
>>59586057
It being smaller than 15.6" is another flaw if anything. Also 4:3, it could be wider 16:9 or 16:10 and easily fit the same godly keyboard that IdeaPads have.
I'm not going to take criticism of the trackpoint back, as long as there is a trackpad there is no need to have a trackpoint. And if you take away trackpad you might as well not even bother manufacturing more than a 1000 units worldwide.
>>
>>59586393
trackpoint is literally better in pretty much every aspect over trackpad, possibly the biggest plus it being in the middle of the keyboard, meaning you won't need to move your hands when you need to type something
desu I think they only include the trackpad just because they would lose a lot of pleb buyers

Is there any logical reason why you would fucking say that post is underrated? Has anybody expressed any kind of dissatisfaction or criticism at all against it? Are you delusional? Are you reading replies that are nonexistant? Maybe you come from communities with voting systems, but there is literally no way that you could know what other people think of that post you just replied to here. Maybe it's psychological. Maybe it's your own post you're replying to, like a 12 year old fucktard liking his own facebook posts thinking his swelling autism is going unnoticed. Maybe your self esteem depends on you tricking yourself into thinking someone out there thinks your post is worth something. Or maybe you are just a retard, the worst kind of retard, the one who thinks he's smart, the one who thinks he's the only one to have gotten the joke, to have understood the post. Well, guess what, faggot, that post is under no definition underrated so why don't you do the world a favor and go check out what the bottom of your toilet smells like?

>sheeple

Honestly, I find the whole "sheeple" apple argument to be pretty ironic. Generally the only people who push this idea are those who can't afford Apple products and scoff at those who "waste" their money on something that they wouldn't buy.

I've never met a "sheeple" person who has actually owned an Apple computer, and judges it based on its own merits, rather than just blindly hating it because it's cool.

Another thing I've noticed is that it follows a trend based on intelligence level as well

>Computer illiterate/Nomie
These are people who need computers to function in modern life, but would be hard pressed to tell you what a CPU does, etc

>Gamers/"Power users"
Smarter than normies, these are the people that build their PC's, have basic knowledge of most programs, etc.

>Computer Technicians/Repair shop Techs
These guys open up anything with a PCB and go to town on the reg, and have no problem fixing most issues, and generally have a good understanding for the underlying complexities of hardware and software design

>EEC Gurus
lol you can't reball a micro socket with your dick? What are you, gay?

The ONLY group that dislikes Apple to the "sheeple" meme extent is group 2, (in fact, I don't think i've ever met somebody in groups 3 and 4 who didn't own a macbook or at the very least want one). Group 2 suffers from the Dunning-Kruger effect, and they feel frustration towards those who buy something that memes keep telling them is bad.

True story:
>be me
>work as software developer
>dislike macs because memes, never owned one
>current job comes with a mac
>start using it on first day
>don't hate macs because of memes anymore

No, I now hate macs with a passion that can only be ignited from first-hand contact.

Yes, macs are good for development. Why? Because they're fucking *nix based.. Everything on top of that, everything Apple added to the BSD core, is stuff that I spend time working around every day. Sometimes I seriously feel like I would be more productive without a DE. (Unfortunately some of my work involves GUIs so that would be the only problem.)

And you could argue that I'm not using it "the right way", that I have the wrong approach, etc., to which I ask, why the fuck should I change my approach to suit an OS? I don't want to learn "the Mac/Apple way" or whatever bullshit, because I personally think it's a shitty way. Maybe that's subjective opinion, but it's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. But no, Apple decided that it would have to be the ONLY way, and just like everything else they have to lock down any customisation that doesn't perfectly suit how THEY envisage things, so that's what I'm forced to work with.

Tl;dr: not only is it shit (which is an opinion, but still a valid opinion that many people share), but the fact that Apple is such a control freak makes everything so much worse, because that could have been fixed with a couple days of installing and configuring things is now simply not fixable at all.

I hate Apple because their devices are boring beyond all belief. Using a Mac is a bland, stale experience -- just like using an iPad. I guess that is why Apple introduces gimmicks like the touchbar; it keeps the mouthbreathers happy.
>>
>>59596278
It does fit 90% of the consumers that buy stuff like iPhones and Mabcook Airs.

You know, your typical starbucks tier hipster.

Some people might have genuine reasons for wanting it. Maybe they actually love the inane UI. Maybe they fell for the "video editing" meme. But it seems to me that these are the minority.

You could perhaps apply the same argument to Windows, but I find that even windows is much more customisable than Mac. If your really want to, you can hack stuff up in the registry or whatever.
Sure, your average "sheep" consumer won't bother with that, but at least they have the excuse of Microsoft's gigantic market share and the fact that it isn't overpriced to shit and back.
Same goes for Android.

>>59596337
I can't argue this, because this is your subjective opinion, but honestly, I find using Apple machines to be more satisfying overall when compared to any other brand.

>>59596351
Basically this.

I think that crowd honestly suffers from the misunderstanding that Apple devices are the ONLY devices that will deliver a good experience, and maybe that's where the "lol fug Apple" people draw most of their anger from. Even there, I will say that I have personally not found a laptop that delivers an experience nearly as smooth as Apple devices do (at least on the computer side of things). I just hate the irony of some people calling others out for blindly liking a brand because memes when they themselves are blindly hating a brand because memes.

I'm assuming you're trolling, but I'll list them in case you're actually an autist:

Phone case - Wow, the absurd emphasis on thinness resulted in having less battery in the phone. Let the missing battery space be replaced for a fee, eliminating the thinness that was a big part of its appeal. It's also ugly.

Mouse - Battery runs out? Dig out the charging cord and wait. Even if the wireless charging tech wasn't ready when it was made, nothing about that precluded the port from being put in the front so it could be used while charging should the battery run out. I honestly can't believe this wasn't done intentionally as a "okay, now what else can we sell these dumb fucks?" thing.

iPad pencil - Can't be charged unless it's positioned flat on a surface. The whole thing sticks out precariously from charging ports.

>>59597872
>Battery runs out?
Battery lasts for 5 months. And you can recharge it to 60% in 15 min due to fast charging.

is it really worth it having that fucking plug on the side so you constantly touch it? No. So it's perfectly fine to put it under.

>iPad pencil - Can't be charged unless it's positioned flat on a surface. The whole thing sticks out precariously from charging ports.
You get a cable with it you fucking retard. Just because some retard doesn't wanna use it to troll idiots like you doesn't make it a bad decision. iPad uses the same connector for everything.

Also where do you get the idea that someone can't afford an apple product?

From what I know in america even poor people get iphones because they get them for cheap on a two year contract.
>>

OH.

Well, in my opinion it's justified, because the numpad has to go somewhere and I don't see the problem with having it overlap existing number keys.

>because they get them for cheap on a two year contract.
That's why Apple gave one phone company exclusive rights to the first iPhone. The phone company agreed to sunsidize the phone in return for a 4-year exclusive.
After than other phone companies were clamouring to subsidize the iPhone.

>>

if the f keys are in special function mode (for volume etc) you can fatfinger a volume up and close the current app. Especially in the dark as its a low end laptop with no backlit keyboard.
>>
>>59586433
In the mouse's defense, supposedly the battery lasts a very long time, and if you're using OS X, it will make very certain to let you know that your battery is dying long before it does. Worst case scenario? Plug it in before you go to sleep.

I don't disagree with the port being located in the most retarded of places, but at the same time I don't see it being as cumbersome of a problem as people want you to believe it is.

These are just the first few things that poped into my head. There's probably more (actually, here's one more: the finder is fucking awful, and even if you enable some option I forgot to be able to browse the / directory it will still not let you go there in some file-open dialogs - the worst part being that usually, these are dialogs in GUI applications with poor or nonexistant CLI support, so this is the exact scenario that doesn't let me navigate to the file using the terminal).

- if the door with the sign is open and not visible, the door is open so you need not do anything
- if you do need to use the other side, you can observe the open side to determine which way it opens
