For lossy compression I would say
BPG, it's still ok in low bit/pixel ratios

Decent Cameras use various "RAW" formats instead of tiff which can be better compressed etc.

PS: Tiff were used in some cameras in the past. But the various deficits had basically every serious camera maker toss even the option to shoot tiff.

Cameras usually provide you with raw & jpeg.
