Yes mac OS. Is really heavy operating system.

For gods sake you needed more than 4Gb of ram in order to use el capitan properly

Also mac os has the really bad habit of not closing the cli backends of gui apps and eating up your RAM

8-16 gigs of ram and you're set for the foreseeable future.
