Hello /g/,
My friend and I wanted to start podcasting. We are unsure what microphones we should purchase, and if there are other things we need to consider.
What products are necessary?
Most likely we will record in a normal room, or perhaps cars.
Budget cap $800

Thanks, seems a bit out of my price range though

>$800
lmao .. buy a fucking $50 mic and spend the $750 on advertising for your shitty podcast.
If you are already overthinking this so heavily theres no hope for this dumb project

Haha overthinking? We legit talked about it last night and I made a thread today. Would hardly call that over thinking.
If there's only two of you, just buy some acceptable cheap mic and sit on opposite sides of it.
it's not rocket science

Two cheap ~50 mics and a bit of sound-foam work wonders. Mostly want to surround the mics from all directions except the direction of the person speaking into it, as well as directly behind the person speaking into it.
Then spend the rest of the budget on advertising.

Imagine being this poor
good luck, love podcasts. fell into the podhole, and have yet to come out.
try to keep the outside noise to a minimum and levels alright, those are probably my only complaints of some podcasts.
