I abandoned when unity, gnome shell and systemd started to fuck up my experience

My question is: is the desktop and services identity crisis finally resolved? Is it a sane moment to come back?

I would really like to use a linux desktop as my daily driver again

I hated the initd to systemd transition, but I got used to it. I still don't like it, but there isn't any moving back. I also got used to Gnome 3 after a while, and I use it as my daily platform for everything, both on my desktop and laptop.

The decision is yours alone, we all have our pet peeves and things that tick us off. You should give it a run yourself and see.
