I used to but my friend used CCleaner and it blew away all my stuff.

If you have more than 8 folders in a single folder and they aren't all the EXACT same kind of thing (music album, project workspace, etc) then rearrange your folder structure until that is the case.

And with few exceptions, only put files in leaf folders (i.e. folders without any subfolders).
