I have a GTX 1080 and refuse to upgrade to the 1080 Ti.

I don' understand some people's autism about not wanting to upgrade. I get not buying to consumerism and upgrading for the sake of it. But if it gets old and inferior to new products, why not upgrade? You can always put your old hardware to use in another configuration.

My phone, nexus 5 still alive and kicking. Battery has gotten even more shit though but I will not buy a new phone until the inevitable LG bootloop happens. Hopefully by then there are some decent phones.

it's an 80gb seagate barracude that i've been recycling as a boot drive since my first personal build, it has ~45k hours logged onto it and thousands of power-ons, fucker has gone through like 6 different iterations of windows and it's still running strong (not really, it has pending/uncorrectable sectors according to CDI, here's hoping I don't run into them anytime soon because I currently don't have any backups)

I have a newer 1tb drive that I use for storage and the PC itself is fast enough (4670k, 980 ti), dunno why I feel compelled to stick with this one instead of just slapping in an ssd considering my board even has an m.2 slot but I think I'm going to push this drive until it fails on me just for the sake of doing it

I'm using lga1155 and my CPU is great, my ddr3 ram is great, but my mobo is dying.

If I want to replace it with quality, I need a full upgrade. So a new CPU to replace the one I have that's already working, replace my extorting ddr3 ram that has no issues with ddr4 just because it's not compatiable anymore. It's bullshit that I need to spend so much extra when most of it doesn't need replacing

The only reason for upgrading nowadays is modern connections/buses (USB 3.1 shit, NVMe, PCIe 3.0) and high-end GPUs. If you don't need any of that shit, you will still be fine with a Core 2 Duo.

My S5A, I fucking hate it, it's way too big but I can't justify buying a new phone because I've only got two options and both are hardware downgrades and one is software. Until Sony puts out a new compact I can't stand the idea of the X Compact and iPhones, to my knowledge still require iTunes to load music which means double-compression, which is basically the only reason I have a smartphone so I don't have to carry an MP3 player. Then there's the compromise with removable batteries and iPhones don't have SDcard expansion. X Compact is all reasonable to me minus that, and I can upgrade to Nugger once they bust out the weird audio bug, but on the downside the audio output from the phone is seriously lacking, almost to the point where I'd need an amp for my car. On top of all that you can't get a fucking glass cover that doesn't take months to arrive because they curved the screen. And the plastic body looks fucking awful. On the other side prices are way down from the original MSRP which is a huge plus.
