Which one is better and should be the standard?
This mess fucked up a parser I programmed that transformed a huge string into some numbers.
inverted period should be used
>>59564930
Use a dot, you stupid european.
I'm European but I prefer dot. 1,000.00 looks better than 1.000,00 imo.
>>59565262
No it doesn't. But dot is what we use on the internet, because standards.
>>59564930
There is no objectively superior version.
>>59564930
The dot is objectively superior. This is like asking if we should use commas to end sentences.
If you think the comma is better as a decimal point please put an end to yourself.
>>59564930
>>59565262
What? Do Europeans seriously use commas in replacement of periods? What the heck is 1.000,00?
>>59564930
A happy face emoji should be used.

In Switzerland we use ' for the thousands separater.
The moral is to use a library.
>>59565262
nah its 1 000,00
>>59567271
Or 1'000.00.
>>59567261
I like this solution
1'234'567.89
>>59567280
1|234|456.89
>>59567350
woah there buddy
>>59567350
Should be 1 and 0.
112341567089
>>59567350
>not 1234567•89
How? Just regex it so that it only counts commas/dots inbetween two numbers.
Unless you're stupid
>>59564930
Decimal point, obviously. There is absolutely no reason for using a comma. It's a source needless ambiguity. Different meaning, use a different symbol.
Why not just use space as thousands separator. 1 798,78
>>59565262
>not superior 1'000,00
The one that when you type it into a compiler it will do what you expect.
History is written by the victors.

1,000.00 in American standards.
, (Europe) = . (America)
.(America) = , (Europe)
1234*10^-2
Throw errors if you see any other punctuation.
>>59567560
and what if I roll my own compiler
