Why is qBittorrent so shitty? I was using Deluge and everything was working perfectly fine. Decided to install qb and got constant freezing and crashing. Just moving the window seemed to consistently freeze it. Did I fuck up somehow or is it really this bad?
>>
>>59562239
Stop being a bitch and use what works for you.
>>
>>59562239
Why did you stop using Deluge if everything was working perfecty fine?
And of course it's a problem on your end. Do you think qbit would be so popular if it froze when you dragged the window?
>>
Switch back to Deuge, then.

I can only assume it was some wonky windows build since the people that come up with these sorts of errors always tend to be fucking shit up systemically.

OP here, seems to be happening when I start torrents using magnet links. Really surprised nobody has had this issue.
>>
>>59562367
The UI used to be fine when it was in its "almost like from the late-1990's" phase. More recently it went all mid-2000's glossy and "slick" on us.
>>
>>59562397
I really want their UI to be like the uTorrent 2.2.1 UI, it's literally the perfection

What recommendations? The qB shill has been largely quiet after having been repeatedly shown screenshots of qB failing to connect to peers that uTorrent 2.2.1 sees just fine.

I don't know what version qB is on so I don't know if you're hitting a new bug, but you should avoid it for the STALLING issue regardless. Also the high CPU usage (which Deluge suffers too.)
Try uTorrent 2.2.1. Make sure to turn off updates so you don't get the 3.x crap. 2.2.1 is accepted on every major tracker; it's lightweight, stable, doesn't do anything stupid, and just werks.
>>
>>59562770
It's also riddled with security features. :^)
>>
>>59562770
Let me tell you about the one bug I ever experienced in qB, long ago one of the default configs was set to allow WAY too many connections at a time and would flood out basically the entire internet connection with the overhead of an infinity number of connection attempts.

Other than that, no problems. There's options for the (micro)TP and other things within the configs. With or without options like that it has almost always just werked.
>>
>>59562727
It might not be the prettiest thing ever, but it's hardly glossy or slick. It's Qt.

I've tested qB several times over several different recent builds and can watch IPs momentarily show up and then drop with nothing transferred. Load up uTorrent 2.2.1 and it connects and downloads from those same peers just fine.
qB can connect to some (and perhaps most) peers so in a well seeded swarm you wouldn't notice an issue. If you spend a lot of time down in 1-2 seed range, you're going to be running into instances where you're sitting there STALLED where uTorrent would be downloading just fine. What looks unseeded in qBittorrent ain't necessarily unseeded.

I don't feel like reinstalling qB, but it suffers the same problems. I was running transfer tests between two PCs and accidentally left qB running. A day later I was running encoding speed tests and was wondering why I was getting inconsistent times. It was because qB was sitting there taking up 5% CPU.

Like I said, don't feel like reinstalling and re- port forwarding. But here's the last test. qB on left, uT on right. qB only ever connected to two of the seeds showing in PTP's peer list. uT connected to the third.

>>59563537
It's pre-allocaing. You can turn that off, or up the cache to 1200MB, which will keep it downloading for a while while it preallocates. Don't go much higher than that since that'll crash it.
>>
>>59562239
I had the opposite experience but why would you switch from a perfectly respectable torrent client if it worked fine?
>>
>>59563735
This is a tech board, you know. If nobody ever tried anything new just because what we had was working we'd all be using uTorrent 1.6.1 or Vuze.
>>
>>59563601
You already posted this shit a while ago and got BTFO.
>>
>>59564113
Why do you have your entire identity linked to a torrent client when you don't even torrent?
>>
>>59564173
What are you smoking?
>>
There were just people on here a few days ago recommending other bit torrent clients because their deluge was so slow. It probably isn't the client... 0_o
>>
>>59564217
It was posted back in October. Being in that thread and now that it was BTFO means you're the qB shill. We've long ago established that you don't torrent. Why do you do nothing but defend a client that can't connect for shit?
>>
>>59564316
>people can only visit threads about something theyre interested in ONCE
If you dont like the client why the fuck youre still creating these threads and post stalled memes every single day? Youre clearly retarded or ut shill. For now ill guess former.
>>
>>59564565
>If you dont like the client why the fuck youre still creating these threads and post stalled memes every single day?
I've never once created a torrent client thread on /g/. My trying qB and finding out for myself why it was called STALLEDtorrent was your fault. You were shilling it 24/7 for months and so I decided to try it. If you don't want people finding the flaws in your shitty software, DON'T TELL THEM TO TRY IT.
>>
>>59564706
>shilling free software
Ayy lmao. Your autism reaching incredible levels. You got told hundreds of times already to just stop using qb if you have problems with it and go back to ushit yet youre acting like retard once again. Guess some people are just like that...
>>
>>59564829

We can easily check that one. If it now has 2001 downloads, the answer is yes.
>>
How is it that there are so many people that use qB without any issues? Yet the loudmouths on /g/ keep complaining? I already know there is an uncomfortably large number of tech illiterates on this board so it makes me believe their "issues" can easily be remedied.
>>

>2001 downloads

>>
>>59564994
>mpv
>crap
pick one and only one
>>
>>59565027
>How is it that there are so many people that use qB without any issues?
You know most people don't actually look at their torrent client 50 times a day with years of torrenting experience across dozens of clients, or test clients side by side, right? Most people have no frame of reference as to how their torrent client should be performing. A client failing to connect to 15/20/25% of peers will just go unnoticed because you never knew they were there. If it was no connection to anyone you'd know the problem is on your end, but getting some connections, you'd blame your shitty rates on a weak swarm. It takes someone with a ton of experience to notice something seems off just from its apparent performance.
>>
>>59565169
You got this backwards. It's the fault of those outdated deprecated clients.
