You were simply too wrong to even bother. But since you don't seem to think so tell me what has changed since 2015? What has Linus (The kernel maintainer) done to make everything "just werk".

Your other "argument" is wrong as well. Splitting packages doesn't cause conflicts. I have no idea why you would think so. It simply makes the maintainers job easier at the expensive of the users system. That's pretty much what arch is. Its why you only encounter things like https://www.archlinux.org/news/ca-certificates-utils-20170307-1-upgrade-requires-manual-intervention/ running it.

Most signs I've seen point to the switch to not overwriting configs being the big thing. But whatever the reason is, since around 2015 it has not broken for anyone who wasn't actively trying to change deathly critical things without knowing what they were doing.

The troubleshooting for problems after setup amounts to just that, checking the news and following simple instructions. Far superior to failing outright with no recourse like has been known to happen to Ubuntu.
>>

That's inherent to Gnome.
>>
>>59561342
I should add, the problem you referenced, along with all others, is required to be fixed before any packages are changed. It's literally impossible to break it with that.

Every year I make a week of checking if Linux is there, cause in like 2009 I used Mint for a year, and it was awesome then, but after a year I needed to get some real-life shit done, and had to go back to windows. Last year I've tried Fedora, Ubuntu Mate, Elementary, Mint, in all their respective new versions.

Of the bunch the best was Ubuntu Mate, cause the UX gave me the least cancer from all the linuxes. Didn't had to care 99% of the time "if this will destroy my build", didn't had to have a fucking sysops PHD to have a fucking working GPU. Basically my only complaint would be, that some tools I use for game development are on a fucking windows, thus I cannot use U-Mate for everything-and don't give me the bullshit it's all there, shit's not working YET.
