writing the perfect game loop

under windows 7, certain programs eating a full full CPU core. The offending threads were running registerthreadwithcrss function. I could suspend the thread with process explorer but unless I let it run or killed the fucked up process I couldn't start new programs.

Never got to the end of it. I had this program on 3 separate, completely different win7 installation. Literally this made me to switch to win10, I'm still mad about it.

In W10, on startup it failed to load the user profile correctly.
I tried the repair suggestions on the microsoft forums, but they did not work.

Eventually, I just made a new user and manually dragged all the files from the old profile to the new one and left the corrupt profile there, empty.
Had to reselect all the settings in programs and windows cause that wasn't immediately obvious to me where in the user profile those were kept.
