Why are websites identified by a domain? Why not a public key fingerprint? Wouldn't it be more secure? Being unreadable doesn't really matter as we have search engines, and honestly, when was the last time you wrote down a domain for someone?

>when was the last time you wrote down a domain for someone?
like 5 minutes ago
search engines create a filter bubble, are a botnet and use a major portion of energie for each search query

Besides, the problem #1 - domain registration - would remain.
I access websites by domain all the time
>why don't we ensure that all internet access has to go through private corporations like Google
>>59550328
your ideas are retarded
>>59550475
This desu famalam
>>59550328
Sounds like you're looking for IPFS
People have no problem memorizing/writing down phone numbers. Why not IP addresses?
>>59552087
cause ipv6
If you use bookmarks you do this.
>>59550328
>using search engines
>not bookmarking domains and searching between them
how many layers of botnet are you on?
>>59550328
The triofag retards strike again.
Why would it be more secure?
Do you really want to search for a website everytime or just type "youtube?"
>>59550505
you dont need a domain, you can just point to the address thats a bunch of numbers. dnr is fucking retarded and adds a layer thats unnecessary to anything really
>>59552087
I haven't memorized a phone number in almost a decade because I can just type the person's name in my phone to contact them after a single registration.
>>59550328
>what is Onion service
>what is Freenet
>what is IPFS
>>59550328
> map domain to ip
> map some random string of characters to ip
I can see why this is more secure
>>59553804
Because there would be no need to trust certificate authorities.
