Poor edition.
>>59543276
Does it count if you became poorfag after the purchase?
>tfw upgrading to 144Hz Gsync and GTX 1080 soon
>>59543419
Can definitely see why.
>>59543276
>tfw to poor to upgrade GPU

R8 my piece of shit laptop I got for $180 CDN.

is this poor enough?
>>59544721
#syncs are a meme
>poor edition
finally, my time to shine.
Everything except ram and SSD was second hand
except cpu @ 4.4
>>59547385
>no screen tearing without vsync is a meme
Sure thing, reddit.
>>59543276
just built this last week to replace an old laptop. plan on upgrading to a ryzen 5 board/cpu in a year or so after all the kinks are worked out
>>59548616
oh yea and idk why speccy says the motherboard is at 120, only monitoring software on my pc that says that
>>59543276
Ram upgrade is about all I really need. Maybe an ssd.
>>59543276
Good enough for me
>>59543419
>gtx 1080
>144p 59hz
was it really worth it?
>>59543430
I got A10-6800K in the same board, it is quite posh actually, no poorfag material.
>>59548733
I think I win, no?
>>59548785
well, seeing that there were way better processors released at the time I bought this, I guess it was poorfag of me to buy it
at least I got a new cooler and overclocked it to 4.4GHz
>>59547518
I just googled your motherboard.. Christ. They didn't waste any space, did they.
It is fucking packed with features for its size.
Quite nice actually. Too bad vrm don't have any cooling, you could probably get some oc on that cpu.
Is this your main computer?
>>59548785
just so you can have an idea, this build cost me ~$796, since I live in a 3rd world shithole, and this is still poormans components in a civilized country
>>59548834
I don't OC but got A10-6800K. I got both very cheap, else I would not pick the board (the efficient VRM is quite nice though).
Do you also get coil whine on it when setting balanced power plan, or is it just my PSU being bad?
I learned to use the battery life mode, due to that.
>>59548881
Never had coil whine, maybe for a few seconds after powering off, but that's probably the shitty psu
Something like $850 for both, including drives and monitor.
>>59548925
I see, my almost bottom of the barrel Fortron then. I really cheaped there.
What really bugs me is that I didn't buy 16GB of RAM back then, it didn't cost much when I got it (november 2012). Prices were never as low again after that.
(BTW I do have a DVD drive, some old SATA Lite-On that has faulty DVD burning head, but reading and CD burning works. It is currently unplugged for reasons. Also the second HDD is failing SMART badly.)
>>59549026
I had one of those seagates (-1CH164), but the 1TB version
backup and replace that quickly, because it will soon give you a painful slow death
>>59543419
>Those ram timings
4300mhz cpu, by the way.
>>59549074
I observed it a bit and it seems it only throws errors on write. So I intend to fill it with stuff and then disconnect it to alternatively store my less needed anime isos, or well, lose them trying.
>>59549116
I bought the cheapest ones possible for my box, made by Transcend and they might even be counterfeit.
While datasheet says they are 1.5V, my previous board ran them on 1.65V on default. Turns out it knew what it was doing, because F2A85X-UP4/Richland would only set 1.5V and the computer would sometimes freeze under combined GPU + CPU load.
Sounds like some marginal or defective chips to me, but hey, everything is rock solid on 1.65 V (or it seems to, no BSODs or crashes ever, passes Prime95). If they do corrupt data, then the people watching my anime rips are out of luck.
>>59549221
Eh, forgot to specify that I'm not the guy on whose timings you are commenting.
But since it's a poorfag story I felt like sharing it.
>>59549221
1.65V on ddr4 memory? Jesus christ, Anon.. You shouldn't even be anywhere near >1.4V.
>>59549275
Nope DDR3, I forgot to type -not him- at the start of that post. Stupid evening, I got to go to bed.
>>59549302
Yeah, your correction updated right when I posted. I'm actually using mixed memory, 16GB of it is rated at 2400mhz 13-13-13-34 at 1.65v. The 32GB kit is 2133 11-11-11-31 at 1.5v. So I just set it all at the slower memory's settings at 1.55v with zero issues. Only thing that really gives me a hard time in this system is that atto raid controller.
This is my space heater
