It is actually possible to "be used by" Facebook without running any nonfree JavaScript. And you can mitigate some of the exploits by doing that (using the basic mobile site), not being logged in to Facebook on the same browser that you browse the web with, and blocking tracking elements like the like buttons.

i use it for my business: i made a facebook page for it and it's convenient to reach customers like that, they "like" shit i post on it etc.

i have dedicated a browser just for it, opera: it's the only thing i do on it so facebook can't track me for shit, they can know very little about me. i don't give them much to use.
