I used to be a brainlet when it comes to web layout as well, but you learn a lot about it with it, I generally would recommend it to anyone.

My recommendation is to block everything except html, images and css, and enable stuff if you need it. Surely uBlock can block most trackers and analytics tools as well, but many websites integrate data collection via cookies and their own scripts so you'll always loose out on privacy in that regard.
