Should I root my G4?I just got a brand new one after a warranty claim and I'm tempted because I want to try and prolong my battery a tad and maybe stop it from overheating, but I don't know how the root scene compared to my old Nexus. I used to own an LG G4 and loved it, until one day it died and wouldn't turn on. Completely broke out of the blue. Since then I've been using my old iPhone 4S out of laziness and convenience. After 9 months with this piece of garbage though, I'm starting to desire something a *bit* snappier.

I just need something to play my gay animu gaemz in class and browse the web. Something with a decent display. mSD slot would be great to have. Android most definitely.

Just got my Redmi Note 4X. Build quality, screen and speed seem great so far. It got an OTA for MIUI 8.2 immediately, but I don't want to stay on a global rom flashed by some sneaky Chinese aliexpress seller.

Anyone had experience with the xiaomi.eu weekly builds? How reliable are they for daily driving?

That's all there is for the Note 4X, I could flash stable MIUI 8.1 for the Note 4 on it, but the model number isn't the same, the 4 has different network frequencies, and it just doesn't seem right.

I got so fed up and impatient with their stocking issues that I bit the bullet and found a 32gb XL on Craigslist for 650. Was in perfect condition. The kid (a Chad that went back to iPhone) only used it for a week and just wanted to get rid of it. The Pixel XL is hands down the best phone I've ever used. And although the Xperia X Compact OFFICIALLY has no waterproof certification, videos on YouTube of it being submerged in liquid point to the fact that it is waterproof. Galaxy S7 flat, extremely satisfied, you can get it brand you for sub $500~
ROM support is not amazing but there's AOSP now in a perfectly working state
Battery life under regular usage is around 4.5 hours, can reach 6 if I'm on WIFI+airplane
Camera is bretty gut (coming from a Nexus 5)
Performance is amazing on the Exynos version (don't buy a SD unless you're a cuck, if you're in America order an Exynos online)
Waterproofing of course is neat
Again if you're worried about futureproofing, AOSP is out
