I know /g is shilling thinkpads, and they look great, but browsing and checking 2nd hand stores, elitebooks seem to have a better bang for the buck (although the seem less well built)
I also prefer fully matte screens, and newer Thinkpads tend, imho, to be on the glossier side of the matte spectrum.
R Thinkpads an overpriced meme, or are they worth it?
Thoughts, /g? (before i take the plunge)
i've got memed into buying a used X220 earlier this week and i love it. waiting for a mSATA and more RAM to upgrade the hardware, probably a new battery, but it's a great laptop for the money. the build qualitiy worths the price alone.

Isn't msata drive slower than a normal SSD on *20
>>59526295
x220 vs x230? thoughts?
>>59526375
It is. SATA II vs the SATA port which uses SATA III.
>>59526395
X230 if you gaymen
>>59526398
nah you won't notice that shit during daily usage, only when copying large files. it's still a ssd.

I get a used T430 with Core i7 and an SSD for 350 bucks here, wonder why I should think about anything else?
We use those in our company and so far people didn't manage to break one of them. Must be about 60 refurbished notebooks in use now.

sounds like a great deal, what i have found so far is a bit pricier, specially the i7 stuff ...

That photo makes me laugh.
>bringing a w520 to a party
I want an ibm t-shirt now.

I have a T420 that I stuck an SSD in and some extra RAM (6 gigs total) and it runs like a champ. Even with the RAM and SSD the whole thing cost me around $200 (got refurbished thinkpad on newegg).
