it's a windows application
>>59524009
That's the only bad thing about it, it runs under WINE an it's open source.
But it's too heavily tied to the Win32 API.
>>59524021
enough to be shit and irrelevant
>>59524000
it's shit.
it's gui only. it's wincuck only. i guess it's kind of a non-argument, but only pajeets and other bad developers use it. It's bloated as fuck. It has no autocompletion. It's ugly. The code is horrible.
Just why use that? If you aren't a computer person you can just use Sublime infinitely or look into Atom/Brackets/whatever

instead of on premise hardware and it infra team just sack the team throw hardware in skip and hire a dev ops dude to setup and mange AWS
>>59523964
at the end of the day, you are a fat neckbeard loser with no job that cries about how awful windows is and how much better linux is :'(
meanwhile those developers that you look down (because they don't use your preferred OS HAHAHAHAHA) upon have a much better job than you and are generally a lot more successful too
instead of being a sour loser get a fucking job
> Surprisingly a full 2.6% of Stack Overflow visitors identify as non male/female, of which a 0.5% transgender. Both numbers much higher than those for the general population.

nobody does that is the point.
20 years ago, editors like vim / emacs editors were better because they focused on features where other editors had to spend time on making graphical interface.
Now, they don't really provide features that are unique, but still comes with a worse interface.
I am not saying that vim and emacs are bad editors, but you have to realize that people can get efficient with other editors almost instantly, where vim and emacs require a lot of training, and in the case of vim, you have to build a lot of features.

> vim and emacs require a lot of training
a literal non-issue if you're going to spend most of your developer life in an editor/terminal. just learn it in a vacation while doing your shitty CS degree, then do all your work in it, and stop being a retard
>>59523967
NOO RUST IS SJW
>>59524351
Vim is not an editor you just learn.
You never talk about the same editor.
You need to hunt down packages for everything and you need to know what to look for.
Since there is poor to no offline documentation, you have to research how to do every feature one at a time.
Compared to other editors where you just install a package from your repo and get back to work.
I already have a very efficient editor.
>>59524484
>You need to hunt down packages for everything and you need to know what to look for.
there's only a handful of essential vim plugins, the rest are for people who use oh my zsh and other bloatware. anyway, what's your point bitch?
>>59524505
Why wouldn't you want bloat in your editor?
I have used vim for a long time and I just accepted the limitations of it and use something else when I need to be more efficient.
