Be it unaccustomed work flow or limitations, I'd rather be on a notebook or desktop for "bigger" tasks, But the iPad is way more convenient for lots of stuff I used to pull out the notebook for.

HP Slatebook x2 has a 1080p screen, usb port and micro sd slot...and it comes with a keyboard dock adding an extra full usb port, keyboard, addition battery, full hdmi port AND a second fuu size sd card slot (yes my android tablet/net book has 2 sd expansion slots).

Sadly its about 3 or so years old and its tegra 4 and 2 gigs of ram is showing its age...But since nobody is making anything like this anymore (sadly as its a damn near perfect netbook DESU) you can have this one when you pry it from my cold dead hands.

But id kill for one with 64gb of internal storage, A tegra x1 and 4 gigs of ram...i wish they still made android convertables...

I think apple most definitely won. Like you said android tablets are essentially dead and thought the surface line is doing well it's not even close to touching the iPad lineup and it more geared towards competing with Macs anyways. Apple's support for older iPads is killer, I only have the original iPad 2 and I'm still quite satisfied with it's software updates.

I have a Kindle for reading books. I find my phone to be perfect for reading manga, except the 2 page drawings. A tablet would be too big for manga, and it would still have a led display, therefore inferior to eReaders and on par with a phone.

Surface pro is literally the pinnacle of the ultrabook meme, it's expensive and slow. If you need a real computer for development or 3D modeling, you want to do it on a quad-core laptop with dedicated graphics anyways.

Same here with the 9 cell battery. I'd call that solid. Of course a tablet has more battery life but you trade a real CPU and OS for that so you end up with an upscaled smartphone. Windows tablets are an exception here. Surface tablets are nice.
