Journald is basically trash. I don't care about most of the little things it gobbles up in its unstoppable rampage but the journald system is insane. It can have udevd and the init system is perfectly adequate.

Can someone tell me why systemd can't be modular? From an outside perspective, it seems simple. Maybe a little tedious having to check if some components exist.
