I'm assuming we all agree with this?
/g/ can't agree on anything.

Chromium is still a botnet, firefox has 100% broken performance configs by default.
What are the two browsers in the middle of God tier? I've never seen that logo before
>>59505124
man, torch browser was good before they started doing the whole ads bullshit. i mean, built in torrent client and video grabber, it was pretty nice.
>>59505341
The first is Firefox nightly (which is the best browser on that chat).
No idea what the second one is.
>>59505372
It's mindfield or call it Firefox alpha
>>59505124
outdated
>>59505372
The second one is Firefox Aurora, which was renamed Firefox Developer Edition.

I take issue with the location of Vivaldi on the list. Sure, it's closed source but it also is available on non-Windows systems and does in fact have features that are lacking in other browsers, my favorite of which is the ability to natively group tabs, and then display them simultaneously which is useful as fuck when you're only on one monitor and you're got a bunch of shit you're doing at once.
>>59506028
this is /g/ though, nothing closed source can be acceptable

I keep hearing that browsers like Opera and IE are "botnets" in that they datamine their users. Proof? Or is it all circumstantial?

If Iridium is so great, why does nobody ever talk about it?
And I dont even mean here, I mean anywhere.

So /g/ whats the best lightwaight browser to use on linux? I'm setting up my 10 year old laptop to be used for studying.
You can disregard any one who says pale moon is great, it's barely good on linux and shit on windows
>>59510687
It's not botnet. It completely disconnects you from Google. It's an okay browser but the default search engine is crap imo.
>>59505124
>Jews and Chinese
YES BURGERLAND VERY GREAT
>>59505124
If there's one thing we should be able to agree on, it's that anything related to Chromium is botnet, and anything related to Mozilla has been broken trash for years.
(Not PaleMoon though)

I legit have to look it up every time myself. I disable safebrowsing cause that calls home to google, i disable the sessionstore stuff I think? Most of the writes to disk (at like a 15s interval) are session saving. I don't remember what else, best solution is to keep your firefox profile in a ramdisk. There's some script that does it automatically and its in AUR, but I don't use that. I had an overlayFS profile set up but kept running into automount issues.

Works on my machine. It feels like old Firefox in a lot of ways. I don't see any major downsides, but I'm not one to pick nits. I just want Firefox without the extra shit bolted on and the horrid UI.
