No it doesn't. Your mistake is confusion critical thinking with rational thinking. There is a subtle difference between the two:
Critical thinking means using reason and applying it to the evidence you are given while simultaneously assuming that you might be wrong and looking for counter-evidence. Most humans are incapable of doing this consistently due to the Dunning-Kruger effect.
Rational thinking means using a rational thought process to create a narrative-style explanation for the evidence you are presented with.

I have known many schizophrenics in my life and have had psychotic episodes of my own induced by narcotics, most schizophrenics attempt to articulate their delusions to others that they trust. Many simply don't have the verbal IQ (as those with high verbal IQ are less likely to develop schizophrenia or other chronic psychotic disorders) or specific knowledge to be able to explain their experiences.
There have been a few schizos in the past like Jung who were able to explain their internal delusions to outside audiences however, and many of them have commonalities such as mysterious and undefined antagonist groups (gangstalking, mind control, etc) and divine or inspired knowledge (speaking with God, understanding fundamental universal "patterns").
I personally can't say what Terry means by his terminology, but my guess is that it relates to those commonly shared delusions.
However you're showing you're ignorance by not understanding that its a common theme for people who have experienced psychosis to rationalize it and create a narrative to explain it.
