why cant amd make an intel killing cpu for the life of them? im being dead serious, no trolling or anything. they always seem to come out just ahead or equal of intels upper mid to lower high range (think best i5 to worst i7) with their top tier offerings. you would think after all this time they would figure out how to btfo intel especially considering how apple of the cpu world they are, overpricing garbage based on name... except they actually can back it up with better performance. like i said, im being dead serious here
CPUs are hard
I'll bite, beside manchildren playing video games pretending that 150 FPS instead of 165 FPS is better on their shitty 60Hz monitor, AMD really did make CPUs to be reckoned with.
Take the $320 R7 1700. It can easily be overclocked to 4 GHz on the stock cooler and net you 30FPS encoding 1080p HEVC video. Their previous 8-core processor (fx-8370) can barely do 15 FPS despite being cranked all the way to 4.62 GHz.
This is a huge improvement especially when considering intel's own $1,000+ 16-thread 8-core processor (i7-5960X) cranked to 4.4 GHz nets you more than 1 more FPS of performance.
Complex ICs are fucking complex.
Why doesn't Intel just make an Nvidia/AMD killing GPU?
>>59496091
You have to be retarded.
>>59496091
y dozen intel just mak amd cpu and steal amd's market??
>>59496091
They did, it's just been a while (Athlon XP)
Wish they would do it again, it woke intel up and they came out with core brand which was a huge leap.
