Just get a modern stereo. They're not hard to install. Often you can get a loom adapter that will go from the old plug to what your radio takes. Even if it doesn't it's just a matter of putting the right wire in the right hole of the new plug.

These things existed long before the overpriced botnet player ipod, who everybody pretended invented the mp3 player, even though I had been using mp3 players for years.
