Hackintosh? [not shilling, promise]

Hackintoshes are better these days than they used to be, but in general you're better off just using Linux.

macOS is almost as much a botnet, but most of the users aren't aware or care about it.

as mentioned, i try and use linux for most things, but for some programs/cases, you need to submit to the crapware

Get a T420
Install CoreBoot, which lets you:
-install an i7-3720QM for that delicious HD 4000 graphics which OS X absolutely LOVES since a lot of MacBooks used it (and it's also an amazing fucking CPU too)
-install an airport pcie wifi card for perfect os x wifi (OS X is very picky about which wifi cards it supports, thankfully it's very happy with some you can install in the T420, but not at all with the stock one. You'll have to change it)
Also install at least 8gb ram in it, OS X is poopoo with less than 4 gigs and 4 gigs is still the bare minimum.
Do all this and you've got the perfect compatible hackbook pro. Powerful for a laptop too, with the i7. It also has expresscard, should you ever want to use a desktop GPU while it's docked or etc. Also, the laptop has a pretty nice 1600x900 display option. It also has a garbage 1366,768 display option so really honestly beware of this when buying one.

Not that security really matters for Apple consumers as they are mostly focused "creating things"
