>>
>>59481229
Even better, continue Windows 10 as WindowsCloud or whatever. Then update Windows 7 with the new NT kernel, driver support and DX12. Sell Windows 7 as Windows Power Edition or some shit, and keep it updated LTSB style.

>>
>>59483874
I disagree. macOS is genuinely good and perhaps now people are slowly waking up to the realization. iOS though still is so locked down it isn't practical. No one in this day and age should have to rely on internal memory alone, a specific piece of software to connect their phones and a very strict way to transfer files to them. macOS has workarounds for pretty much anything these days, iOS just doesn't.
>>
>>59483985
I have no idea how the hardware is, but I know for damn sure that I'm not using a phone that doesn't allow me to install 3rd party software. I'm also too much of a tinkerer to not have file system access.

macOS is breddy good though.

Windows Ten sucks, tried the preview build when it came out in a vm. Sucks ass. More flash, more bloat, More steps required to do a simple fucking thing. More of the whole split touch/phone and reg desktop thing (although not as bad as 8/8.1). Only positive thing was that the start menu was back and the fact it was compatible with my server, WHS 2011 so if the day ever fucking came i got a Win Ten portable and was stuck with it (no win 7 drivers) I could at least back the fucking thing up without worry about data loss.

I really don't understand what Microsoft's thinking. I mean, it is completely viable to provide an advertising+datamining platform(or 'botnet', as /g/ would put it) as an actual and let even most 'power-users' (e.g. /g/) believe it is an OS. Just look at Google.

I mean, is it really that hard to passively push all your bullshit without alienating all users who actually have at least vague idea what you're doing?

I'm starting to think MS wants them to leave, to the point they do not only have a botnet of computers, but also of their users, who swallow everything MS feeds them.

The only reason Windows 10 managed to survive this long is because people could defend it.

People could choose to overlook software compatibility and Microsoft stealing their personal information because it didn't interfere with how most people use their computer.
