Regular uses include file/media hosting, game server, toy, or gift to someone who doesn't have a computer like a small child.
I've also heard of WiFi relays, media streamers including near zero delay from a personal powerhouse, pirate radio hosts (careful about local laws on that one, FCC can and does raid harmless bandwidth users), and more open ended control devices like for home security systems.
Render farms, hypothetically, but that seems like a pain to maintain. Better to donate your processing power to a scientific cause that strikes your fancy.
Or just enjoy them for what they are, especially if they fall into the vintage category, and keep them preserved.
