Presonally honor 8 for the design and the Kirin, but I guess for most people the HTC might be better.

Which has a more durable and vivid screen
And which will last longer?

HTC probably. The Honor is a glass phone with a Kirin SoC, the HTC is using a Qualcomm SoC.

Are these your only 2 options? Zuk Z2 is only $158 now, outright...

Also how are you getting a HTC 10 same price as Honor 8?

OP 3T is Pajeet Tier

I'd recomend the HTC for now since it has a better XDA community.

>>
Sup /g/

I need an advice for a new phone.

It must have:

>excellent screen
You experience the smartphone through its screen, so it must be as good as possible.

>well built
If it breaks on its own, or because it fell on the floor, then it's not worth considering, since a broken product is worth nought. It doesn't mean it must be as invincible as a tank, just that it can survive everyday use and some accidental abuse.

>durable
I expect it to last three to four years.

>not stupidly expensive
I think €300 is a sensible price to pay, but as long as I'm not far into diminishing returns, then I'm willing to pay.

These are the main requirements. Then it would be nice if it had
>unbloated android
>small bezels
>a camera flush with the back
>a good battery
>mSD expansion slot
>removable battery
>>
>>59474343
Due you have problems with it?

Is getting a Nextbit Robin a totally cooked idea?

They're cheap and I think an 808 with 3GB would suit my needs. I was previously considering a mi4, but I know that the 801 isn't actively seeing support for Quaaaaalcom anymore.

Looking for something with good, official rom support - under $200AUD
>>
>>59476044
the redmi 4 prime will get los support soon since the sources were released recently. Maybe that's a phone for you too.
>>
What's the difference between the snapdragon 626 and 650? I know that the 4xx line is the low end line the 6xx is for midrangers and the 8xx is for flagships. But where is the difference between those two?
>>
>>59476084

Seems to have a Mediatek processor (though that may well not be an issue if sources have been released).

It does also appear to be around $250AUD.

Surely at that price I'd go for the Lenovo SUCC z2. I know it already has official Mokee (haven't fucked with that, but have heard good things)

Zuk Edge and Maizu Pro 6 Plus fit all but removable battery and expansion slot.

Maybe 1+3t?

No phone that price would reasonably last 3+ years though.
>>
>>59476157

Seems that's the differences between the "pro prime" and the "prime".

This naming convention... it needs to end.
>>
>>59476184
The Zuk Z2 is still better than the redmi phones in most aspects though.

It's the same price as a Redmi 4 Prime now too.

I ordered the Redmi 4 Prime yesterday, apparently now I can get the Zuk Z2 on Banggood for the same price. Should I cancel my order? I care about LineageOS support, although MIUI seems good.

Shit I care about:
Zuk Z2:
>64GB
>USB-C

Redmi 4 Prime:
>only 32GB, but with microSD
>MIUI > ZUI

Both have spotty/unofficial LineageOS support.
>>
>>59478297
Zuk Z2 has official Mokee support, better SoC, better camera, type C.

Redmi has better battery life.

Both are open source now so it's up to you, but personally I'd go with the Zuk. It's got a pretty big community (for chinkphone) on their own dedicated forum.

Thanks, I think the Z2 is a better overall phone. The lack of microSD isn't that important since it has more internal storage anyway.
Any idea how troublesome the ROM situation is for it? I know with Xiaomi you have to apply for an unlock code and wait about a week to have it. And LineageOS support for it seems abandoned since January.
>>
I have around $400 to spend on a phone.
Axon 7, OnePlus 3T or is there something better?
>>
>>59478686
I own Zuk Z2 Pro.

Unlocking was super easy, but use a browser with built in translate like chrome, or an extension, since the page will be in Chinese.

You just make an account, send them an unlock request, 2 minutes later you'll get an unlock.img via email. Flash via fastboot and you're unlocked.

I'm on rooted stock rom at the moment, I like ZUI so far.

You should really pay the extra $5 for a tracking code, but other than that these sites are great. Shipping is normally around 2 weeks.

These types of phones normally aren't sold by normal resellers, so the only option is to have it shipped from China.

Websites like tradingshenzhen.com have it, but be aware that the Z2 (non-pro) does not offer LTE band 20, which means you'll likely have no LTE outside of bigger cities. Check with your carrier if your locations depend on band 20, or if other LTE bands are available.

Software question here.
I've used UC browser till now even though it's an unstable, borderline spyware sack of shit.
I stuck with it because it has the best video player I've ever seen in a phone browser.

I'm inclined to go with Firefox but I don't know if there's an add on that'll give me that sweet video functionality of UC.

My mom still uses my old T989d, which is an S2 variant. Absolutely nothing wrong if all you plan to do is call, text and play music, but it is balls slow doing anything, and I mean ANYTHING else. I actually reverted her to Android 4.3 because CM12 was causing all kinds of usability issues.

And as >>59484100 mentioned, it is a Samsung, which means all the usual hardware flakiness. Right now the USB port is getting all loose, the phone won't charge half the time, it seems to corrupt SD card for no reason, and the WiFi signal randomly drops if you're more than a few feet away from the router. In my experience, Samshit hardware tends to go south after extended use. Although I am not sure what other phones would still be good after almost 5 years of continuous usage. Still, I'm planning to buy her an Acer Liquid Zest to replace the aging Samsung, because $100 for something unlocked running a newer version of Android with no chink bullshit sounds good to me, and it's not like she needs a huge amount of processing power anyways. I would argue that's the superior route.

Can I have some purchasing advice please? This is what I have

>Verizon Wireless (USA) shared plan
>Lumia Icon, WP10
I actually really like the Icon, and it's been a very reliable, tough phone for me. Camera has held up decently (pic related) and I've grown to like the smooth UI a lot. It's just getting up there in age and isn't greased lightning quick anymore, plus the battery and network card seem to be on their way out. There's also a lack of WP devices on VZ's network, so I'm probably going to be going Android

Must haves
>Verizon compatible
>32GB+ internal storage, 3GB+ RAM
>Snapdragon 600/800 series or equivalent processor
>1080p resolution
>Under 5.5" screen size
>great camera
>hefty battery (at least enough to last at least 36 hours of light-moderate use before charge)

Preferred, unimportant Features:
>Expandable memory (32GB+)
>Blocky, Lumia-esque aesthetic (Sharper corners are good to me)
>Good sound quality for headphones
>Water resistance/good build quality
>good range of case options
>~$550 or less

Usage habits:
>Light App use (used to and okay with WP's nonexistent app ecosystem)
>Normie social media apps (FB, Insta)
>Almost never use cloud services
>Heavy music and camera use
>Frequent messaging and web browsing

I've been looking at the Pixel, and less seriously, the Blackberry Priv. I'm not familiar with Androids other than the main flagship ones, so this is all new to me. What else should I consider?

Thanks!
>>

They stealth down-swapped the camera from the pro. http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=7511&idPhone2=8125&idPhone3=8038

That and the nano SIM only and that there does appear to be a Zuk shill on board. But its definitely in contention as a new phone model as opposed to the (good I think) Redmi Note 3 typically advised.
>>
>>59491114
>no image stabilisation
>bigger pixel size
I wouldn't call that a straight up downgrade to be honest. Plus it can now record 4k. Only think I'm missing from my Z2 is 60fps1080p smooth video and it'll be a perfect phone for me.

>>
>>59491326
I've looked online at that and it doesn't seem to work with the CDMA stuff. The frequency checker says it'll only do 4G LTE, and I'm not willing to take that gamble.

Is there something like the v20, but smaller? How's the G5 in comparison?

The biggest issue is really just the lack of compatibility with Verizon
>>
What is /SPG/'s favorite video player with subtitle support? On a Galaxy S7, I'm having issues with audio/video being out of sync in MX Player.

>>

>>59491656
Yeah... Reading more reviews about it seem to indicate that it's not holding up so well.

I just kinda want something low profile (not fuckhueg like the LG's) but also pretty good performance wise. It really looks like the Pixel is the only one out there that suits my needs on Verizon's site, but it's just a tad pricey. The V20 seems alright, but it's just too big. Not sure if under 300 actually, but the 64GB model should be very close to $300

If the OP 3T is pajeet tier just call me Apu, because this phone beats the dogshit out of every other phone I've used up until this point.

Okay Apu.

Too bad the battery is shit

Okay. Any other phone didn't last a day, I get over a day and a half with about 5 hours SoT using FK.
Educate yourself before spouting nonsense Mongoloid.

Xiaomi mi mix or wait for iPhone 8? (whatever the OLED version is called)
>>
>>59495715
No. The battery is shit cuz it will degrade fast because of the fast charging bullshit. Enjoy your planned obsolescence
>>
>>59495715
>5 hours SoT
My Nexus 5 was managing the same in its first year. Had degraded to 3.5-4 hours by the time I upgraded though, nearly 3 years later.
>>
>>59495605
Woah, I'll definally add it to the list

Avoid Mi Mix: if it falls it breaks since the frame is just too thin.

Dumbfuck, LineageOS official s very much alive. RN3PRO gets nightlies, last one was on 15th of March.

It also has shit call quality and an aspect ratio that makes it look like its got bigger than iPhone bezels when you try to watch any media on it.

Guys, how do I unlock the bootloader on a Moto G4 Plus? My cousin forced the Nougat update and it's making some of my apps laggy so I flashed the base firmware 6.0.1 but my device is still booting Nougat.

My old phone (Zopo zp998) just cracked, need a new one.

Country: Germany
Carrier: O2/e-Plus
Budget: 150€~
Size: between 5" - 6"
Features from most to less important:
Battery life
Overall build quality
Small bezels
Screen (at least good looking 720p ogs)
CPU/GPU good enough for fluid webbrowsing, sneaky shitposting, youtube sessions and ebook reading.

Good cam is a plus

Is the Oukitel K6000 any good?
I really want to browse the web/read my ebooks for hours without charging. Should at least get me trough a 6-7 hour trip of permanent use.

Thanks in advance.

Kek even Doogee Shoot 1 will get good low light photos with manual settings. It's like taking a photo with good lighting, anyone can do it.

Lads, if i can get my hands on a new galaxy note 4 with exynos, should i do it?
I like the pen and the size, but will this phone work well nowadays?
It renders at 1440p which is overkill but i duno if one can change the resolution in android phones.

Honor 8
4gb ram
kirin 950 is like a snapdraggon 820, might even be faster
1080p 5'2 screen
one of the best cameras on the market
pretty solid 3000mah battery
and in my opinion one of the best looking phones
and it's pretty cheap for what it is, it's like 400$

thank you very much, I was searching the exact fingerprint sensor.

paired with the 3.5k battery which gives tremendous battery life on the small screen, yes.
>>
idk what to get. I want a compact phone but I don't like how the x compact looks with the glossy back. And other phones are too big for my taste.
>>
I'm about to buy a Zuk Z2, but I read that it has a ton of bloatware and is very different from stock android. How true is that ?
I know I hated my time with ASUS ZenUI and now want something as close to stock android as possible.
>>
I'll get my Z2 in a few days, and I'm thinking about sticking with the stock ZUI ROM.

I watched this video and it looked rock solid & stable as fuck: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nksaLMho-QY

Is it actually worth it or should I flash Mokee?
>>
>>59496947
The only bloat I know of is the Chinese cloud service. If I were you I'd just root the stock ROM and debloat it. The ZUI rom is a bit different, just check out the vids on YouTube, but it reminds you of iPhone's UI, with the bottom to top bar and stuff, except highly customizable.

>>59496985
If you check Zukfans.eu you'll find that even the "official" Mokee 7.1.1 ROM lacks some important features, so i'd stick with stock until some of those are patched.

Galaxy A3 2017
iPhone SE

>>59495946
Oukitel K6000 Pro
Redmi 4 Pro
Redmi Note 4 Global

All will easily do +12h SoT

>>59496363
Shouldn't be hard to root but custom ROM support is almost nonexistent
>>
>>59496288
I'm drooling over these chink phones but I just can't seem to find any that will work with Verizon. I can't switch carriers, unfortunately.

Is there any way to get a Zuk Z2 Pro, Honor 8, or even some Huawei's to work with the network?

>>59493461
How do you like the Priv? How long have you had it? Most of the reviews I say are pretty cautious about it.

>Bear in mind I'm upgrading from a Lumia Icon

Thanks for the advice.
Do you know if the Redmis have dragontrail glass displays like the oukitel, or something similar?
>>
Country: Canada
Current Phone: Xperia Z3C

Looking for something around $400 CAD.

>Camera is important to me
>Don't care about removable battery or micro SD (so long as there is like a 64GB option)
>Good custom ROM support is important to me (My Z3C never got the official Android Nougat update from Sony, and the custom scene is basically dead)
>Fingerprint scanner would be nice

Basically my big complaints about the Z3C are the lack of support and the shitty camera (due to Sony's proprietary noise reduction algorithm that can't be disabled).

Research so far:
>Zuk 2 $210 CAD
>Honor 8 $380 CAD
>OnePlus 3T $599 CAD
